The perfect way to spend a few days away from it all!

Relax, revive and recharge in this charming cottage nestled under the figtree! Have a relaxing massage and order a traditional South African meal to enjoy in the privacy of your cottage. Listen to African music or the birds in the magnificent tree.

My husband and I recently stayed at The African Cottage/Rondawel complex at Maleny. We stayed in the 1 bedroom Cape Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything necessary for a relaxing getaway was provided and the tasteful and quirky touches in the decor added to the African experence. We had a very private and spacious deck off the living room that overlooked the gardens and the biggest Fig Tree I have ever seen. There was Weber BBQ on TBD deck, as well as cooking facilities in the kitchen. Our Host and Owner Matilda is a lovely lady who must be very proud of her wonderful establishment. As well as the great accommodation, the authentic African food cooked on site and delivered to our cottage by Matilda (usually accompanied byTiger the cat) was absolutely delicious. I took home a copy of Matilda's Cookbook hoping I can recreate some of those great dishes. Our thanks to you Matilda and your Staff for our very relaxing and enjoyable stay. We hope to return.

This was our second stay at the African Cottages and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves once again. The Cape Cottage is a little piece of Africa in the beautiful Maleny Region - comfortable, modern and with all the mod-cons. Matilda's cooking is to die-for - absolutely delicious! We loved the convenience of having the meals delivered piping hot to our cottage and will definitely return for the fantastic Bobotie and Malva Pudding! We ended up buying Matilda's recipe book and some of her amazing sauces and chutneys. Definitely worth trying at home! The bed is very comfortable and the cottage was spotless. Matilda's friendly hospitality and local knowledge (she suggested a fabulous place for breakfast in Maleny) just added to the enjoyment of the whole experience. Highly recommended.

We stayed in the Cape Cottage which is perfect for a couple. The weather enabled us to to try out the heater which was unusual and provided a lovely subtle and gentle warmth. At another time we took advantage of a lovely breeze on the verandah looking into the branches of a wonderful fig tree. We were very comfortable and felt at home. We ordered food from the menu for each night. It may not be to everyone's taste (I loved it) . Mathilda is a delightful host but not intrusive. Having a massage in your own room is an added bonus. Would I stay again? Yes.

Experienced an amazing weekend getaway at Maleny African Cottages. The cottage was secluded beneath an awesome 500 year old tree spanning the balcony! The accommodation was spacious, clean, very comfortable and beautifully decorated in a South African theme - music and all. Our package included a fabulous traditional South African dish - Bobotie- which was so good we bought extra pre-packaged ingredients to take home. Thank you Matilda for a weekend to remember - we will be back!! Kay and Rob
