am very excited about our Private Dining Range,
as I feel there is a real need for good quality, take home gourmet meals. Most
people today are too busy to get home and start a meal from scratch, and a lot
of people don't WANT to cook! Then you have the holiday makers, those who live
by themselves-the list is endless!
Our Private Dining Range is mostly based on traditional
South African dishes, which is a very important part of our Gourmet Afrika Range.
The dishes are tasty and aromatic, rather than hot (except for the Peri Peri of
course!). I am sure they are going to be very popular!
1. BOBOTIE The most traditional of all South
African dishes. Tangy lean mince with the flavours of aromatic curry and apricot,
baked in an egg custard until golden. Served with aromatic rice and Blatjang Chutney.
MALAY LAMB CURRY Our famous aromatic curry blend of 19 spices, combined
with tender lamb shanks, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, onion, raisins and apple. A
unique combination! Serve with rice or polenta.
3. SPECIAL MALAY MINCE CURRY Our famous aromatic
curry blend of 19 spices, combined with lean mince, tomato, garlic, fresh ginger,
onion, raisins and apple. A unique combination - not too hot! Great served in
hamburger buns, or with rice. The kids will love it!
"DENNINGVLEIS" - Spicy Malay Coconut Lamb
Tender lamb shanks, marinated in our Spicy Malay Coconut Sauce, then slow - baked
in the oven until the meat falls off the bone. Juicy and delicious! Serve with
polenta or rice.
5. SOSATIES Tender leg of lamb, dried apricot & baby onion kebabs. Marinated in our traditional
Sosatie Marinade - a tangy curry and apricot flavour, not hot at all. Chargrilled
to perfection. Serve with a fresh salad.
6. CHICKEN FILLETS IN PERI PERI Organic chicken
fillets, marinated in traditional Peri Peri (hot chilli marinade!), then chargrilled
to perfection. Succulent and light. Served on a bed of hokkein noodles. Just add
FILLETS IN SESAME, LIME & GINGER Organic chicken fillets, marinated
in our Sesame, Lime & Ginger Marinade, then chargrilled to perfection. Beautiful
flavours! Served on a bed of hokkein noodles. Just add a salad!
8. BOBOTIE SAMOOSAS Traditional samoosas with
a twist! Filled with Bobotie mixture, which is lean mince flavoured with aromatic
spices like ginger, curry and tumeric and a tangy apricot sauce. Quite delicious,
and ideal as a quick snack or when entertaining. Simply panfry in vegetable oil
until golden, then drain on paper towels. Served with our Chilli Jambo.
9. HOENDERFRIKADELLE - CHICKEN RISSOLES! Tasty
chicken rissoles with the flavours of lemon grass, kaffir lime, lemon, ginger
and a hint of chilli. Oven baked till golden and moist. Served with Citrus Couscous
and our Mango, Lime & Ginger Sauce.
